The project was jointly researched by Yuchai , Tianjin University, Changchai, and Shanghai Internal Combustion Engine Research Institute. "The key technology and product development of the four-cylinder diesel engine" passed the acceptance by the expert group of the Ministry of Science and Technology. As the main research unit of this project, Yuchai selected two engines for technological improvements to achieve emission upgrades. Through the simulation analysis and test improvement of the two models of fuel supply system, air intake system and combustion chamber, etc., comprehensive technologies such as injection pump and nozzle pressure and reasonable organization of combustion are improved, so that engine performance, emissions and fuel consumption meet the requirements of the project plan. .
