After 26 months of construction and multiple technological upgrades, at 17:26 on June 28th, Asia's largest 7.63-meter coke oven was successfully charged for the first time at Yankuang Group, producing 46.8 tons of high-quality metallurgical coke. This milestone marks China's successful absorption and integration of advanced global coking technology, showcasing the country's progress in developing its own cutting-edge coking techniques over the past two decades. The 7.63-meter coke oven, introduced by Yankuang International Coking Co., Ltd., is currently the largest of its kind to be imported into China. It represents the most advanced coking technology available worldwide. The two ovens together can produce 2 million tons of coke annually, equivalent to the output of four 50-hole coke ovens commonly used in China today. This state-of-the-art facility utilizes the world's most advanced machinery and automation systems, offering high efficiency, a compact footprint, and an excellent dust control system. The oven is also equipped with both wet and dry quenching systems. A new type of quenching coke car ensures a stable process during wet quenching, reducing dust emissions to just 10 grams per ton of coke—far below the typical 130 grams seen in traditional domestic systems. In terms of gas purification and recovery, the project employs advanced high-efficiency cooling, washing, desulfurization, and recovery technologies. This results in a hydrogen sulfide conversion rate of 96% and sulfur product purity reaching 99.5%. The project’s construction time set a new global record for similar facilities, highlighting the efficiency and technical excellence of the operation. Imported from Germany, the technology not only enhances production capabilities but also significantly improves environmental performance. Industry experts have praised Yankuang International Coking Co., Ltd. for transforming China’s coking industry through the successful introduction, construction, and adaptation of this advanced technology. The project has helped reduce pollution, improve coke oven machinery, and bring China closer to international standards in environmental protection and industrial technology.
