According to "The Fastening Journal", production facilities have been damaged, warehouse racks have collapsed, cracks have appeared in the walls, and glass windows have also been destroyed in varying degrees, in factories in Ibaraki Prefecture and central Tochigi Prefecture that are located far away from the source. However, fortunately, there were no casualties.

An employee of a factory stated that “For the recovery of the production line, the company has taken corresponding measures internally; but we cannot start with external factors such as infrastructure, and we only hope that the country can issue appropriate countermeasures as soon as possible.”

However, factories close to the coast suffered severe losses due to the impact of the tsunami. According to eyewitnesses, “The factory is flooded with more than 1 meter, and employees must climb onto the roof or take refuge on the second floor.” Some companies have to relocate their production to factories in other regions because they take longer to resume production. In addition, serious situations such as the collapse of the ceiling, the collapse of the wall, and the unclear whereabouts of the employee’s family members have also emerged.

It is understood that even if the production line is generally resumed work, the machine cannot operate due to insufficient power. In addition, logistics has also been affected and the delivery period has been extended. Many customers have expressed their understanding of the impact of this one-hundred-year event, but the industry will still face many difficulties during the period of return to normal production levels.
