Here are some helpful tips and tricks on how to install our bottom screw-in tap! Whether you're setting up a new drum or replacing an old one, this guide will walk you through the process step by step.
If you're having trouble following the steps below, don’t worry — we’ve got you covered. Tools You’ll Need: Before starting, make sure the drum is placed on a stable surface. Turn the drum so that the bottom bung is facing upward — this is crucial to avoid spilling any liquid during the process. Once the bottom bung is facing up, use the end of your drum spanner to twist it open. Inside, you'll find a piece of plastic that prevents leakage during transport. (See Image 1) Once the bung is removed, take your knife and start cutting a square in the center of the drum. The middle is the hardest part to cut, so a square shape makes it easier. (See Image 2) After you've cut most of the way through, use the flathead screwdriver to push the remaining section inward. When only one side is partially cut, gently push it inside the drum. This will create a clean opening for the tap. (See Image 3) Now that there's a hole in the drum, you can install the bottom screw-in tap. Make sure it fits snugly and securely.
