World-Renowned Judges Announced for AEC Excellence Awards 2018
Autodesk, HP, Construction Dive, and Smart Cities Dive are proud to announce the distinguished panel of judges for the AEC Excellence Awards 2018. This global group of industry leaders and innovators will select the Innovator of the Year and evaluate entries in infrastructure design, building design, and construction based on rigorous criteria. Their goal is to recognize the visionaries and groundbreaking projects shaping the future of the built environment.
The AEC Excellence Awards 2018 are now open for submissions until July 31, 2018. Following this, the judges will review all entries and announce the finalists in September. **Ada Fung**
Ada Fung, BBS, JP is the Chairperson of the Committee on BIM at the Construction Industry Council and has been a key driver behind the full adoption of BIM in Hong Kong. She previously served as Chairperson of the Architects Registration Board, President of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, and Chairperson of the APEC Architect Monitoring Committee. With over two decades of experience in the industry, Ada has played a pivotal role in advancing BIM within the Housing Department since 2006, driving innovation across building, civil, and GIS sectors.
**Aileen Cho**
Aileen Cho, a senior editor at Engineering News-Record (ENR), has spent 22 years covering infrastructure and construction topics. Her work has earned numerous awards from business publications and engineering societies. In 2015, she traveled across the U.S. visiting construction sites and public works departments, and in 2016, she focused on aviation infrastructure. Her articles have appeared in major publications like the Los Angeles Times and New York Times.
**Donna Laquidara-Carr**
As Industry Insights Research Director at Dodge Data & Analytics, Donna leads editorial direction for the SmartMarket Report Series. Her research covers topics such as green building trends, BIM value, and lean construction. She regularly presents her findings at major industry events and contributes to leading publications.
**Dr. Jack Cheng**
Dr. Jack Cheng is an Associate Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, with expertise in BIM, 3D GIS, IoT, and smart cities. He has led several research initiatives and holds leadership roles in professional organizations. **Keiichiro Taniguchi**
An architect and sustainable designer, Keiichiro Taniguchi specializes in using environmental simulations for sustainable architecture. He currently explores how BIM can support these simulations, aiming to create more efficient and eco-friendly designs.
**Lachmi Khemlani**
Founder and editor of AECbytes, Lachmi has been analyzing AEC technology since 2003. She holds a Ph.D. in Architecture from UC Berkeley and has consulted on the implementation of AEC technologies globally.
**Liang Jin**
