More than 20 patents of Shanghai Jiaotong University for the new energy bus "downsizing"

The future bus is expected to "slim down." Shanghai Zizhu Emerging Industrial Technology Research Institute and Shanghai Jiaotong University Advanced Industrial Technology Research Institute have jointly invented a new energy-driven "green bus." Compared with traditional buses, it carries more than 20 patented inventions on its body. The drive system is not only small and light, but also integrates transmission and electric drive instead of traditional transmissions.

According to Professor Yin Chengliang of Shanghai Jiaotong University's School of Mechanical and Power Engineering, in the past large and medium-sized electric vehicles for public service use industrial alternating current asynchronous motors. The motor and transmission are independently designed and the system is bulky. The system uses a high-speed permanent magnet motor and is integrated with variable speed. The system is light and small, using oil-water double-layer cooling technology to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the system. “The power of ordinary electric buses is 80-100 kW, and the maximum driving power of 'green buses' is 160-200 kW.” Its power performance, fuel economy and emission performance all reached the leading domestic level.

The fuel consumption of the “green bus” is more than 30% lower than that of the prototype diesel vehicle. The external charging feature allows the fuel consumption to be reduced by more than 60% compared to the prototype diesel vehicle. The “green bus” drive system has a complete platform structure with a detachable structure. The motor can be used in public service areas such as city logistics and urban sanitation. It can be widely used for HEV, Plug-in HEV and pure electric buses. 9-12 meters of large and medium-sized public service vehicles such as logistics vehicles and sanitation vehicles.

Speaking about future demonstration and promotion, Yin Chengliang told reporters that Shanghai Jiaotong University was the first pilot unit of Minhang, devaluing 10 buses for use in buses on the campus, and then promoting school shuttles, and then expanding to urban public transport. The models currently participating in the demonstration include electric buses, electric logistics vehicles, electric sanitation vehicles, and connecting vehicles. It is estimated that 100 vehicles will be produced in 2012 and the number will reach 1,000 by 2013.
