House fire in Oak Forest – 5/10/15

Late last Sunday night (May 10th, 2015), the Oak Forest Fire Department received an emergency call and quickly responded to a fire incident in the area. By the time I arrived, the fire had already been extinguished, and firefighters were busy conducting overhaul work. It was quite a sight to see so many emergency units on the scene. Oak Forest Engine 11 and Truck 12 were among the first responders. Chief 900 and Chief 901 were also present to oversee operations. Additional support came from the Posen squad, a Crestwood engine, a Midlothian squad, a Flossmoor engine, an Orland truck, a Hazel Crest truck, Matteson ambulance, and even an Orland ambulance. The collaborative effort of these different departments really highlighted the importance of teamwork in emergency situations. The photos I took that night capture the intensity and focus of the situation. In one image, you can see firefighters working diligently at the site of the blaze, their equipment and presence a testament to their readiness. Another shot highlights the presence of the ambulances, ready to respond to any medical needs that might arise. There are also images of fire trucks on the scene, their lights casting a bright glow against the darkness of the night. This experience really drove home how critical it is for communities to have well-coordinated emergency services. It’s not just about having the right tools and vehicles; it’s about the people who step up when the unexpected happens. The dedication and professionalism of those involved that night were truly inspiring.
