House fire in Oak Forest – 5/10/15
Late Sunday evening (May 10th, 2015), the Oak Forest Fire Department responded to a fully involved structure fire. By the time I arrived, the flames had been extinguished, and crews were focused on overhaul operations. The initial unit on the scene was Oak Forest Truck 12, which quickly tackled the fire located at the rear of the residence.
When I got there, the following units were already on-site contributing to the efforts: Oak Forest Engine 11 and Truck 12, Chiefs 900 and 901, the Posen rescue squad, a Crestwood engine, a Midlothian squad, a Flossmoor engine, an Orland truck, a Hazel Crest truck, Matteson's ambulance, and an Orland ambulance. It was clear that this was a coordinated response involving multiple departments.
