New engine for the Troy FPD

Just saw this awesome new rig from Rosenbauer America on the Troy Fire Protection District's Facebook page! It’s their very first apparatus, and it looks like they really nailed it with this one. The truck is a sleek 3/16” aluminum Commander FX pumper that seems perfectly tailored to meet all their future firefighting needs. This bad boy boasts a massive 1,500-gallon water tank, paired with a powerful 1,500-GPM Waterous pump and a robust 450-horsepower L9 Cummins engine. One of the standout features is its unique paint job, along with the top-mounted pump panel that adds both functionality and style. There’s also a 2,600-watt Vanner Patriot Inverter onboard to keep things running smoothly. With dimensions of 35’4” x 8’ x 10’4”, it fits perfectly in their firehouse. What caught my attention was how they managed to balance power and practicality while keeping the design modern and professional. It’s clear that the Troy Fire Protection District put a lot of thought into what they needed, and Rosenbauer delivered exactly that. I love how the photos really capture the details—like the clean lines of the bodywork and the thoughtful layout of the equipment. Sentinel Emergency Solutions did an excellent job documenting this impressive piece of firefighting machinery. It’s always exciting to see departments investing in state-of-the-art vehicles like this. I’m sure it’ll serve them well for years to come. If you’re ever in the area, maybe I’ll get a chance to check it out in person! Anyway, congrats to the Troy Fire Protection District for taking delivery of such a fantastic truck. It’s definitely one of the coolest rigs I’ve seen lately!
