Steps to Replace Your Spark Plugs:

1. First, ensure the engine is completely cooled down. Turn off the vehicle and let it sit for some time. Open the hood and locate the spark plug cover, which could be on the top or side of the engine depending on your model. After removing the cover, you’ll find the spark plug wires and ignition coils attached to the spark plugs.
2. Gently remove the ignition coils from the spark plugs. Typically, you can twist them slightly and apply gentle pressure without pulling too hard. Once removed, you’ll see the spark plugs. Use a spark plug socket with a wrench to unscrew each spark plug carefully. Turning the wrench counterclockwise slowly will prevent damage. Rushing this step can lead to costly repairs if the spark plug snaps.
3. Take the new spark plugs out of their packaging and apply a thin layer of anti-seize compound to the threads. Hand-thread the spark plugs back into the cylinder wells and tighten them further using the spark plug socket and wrench. It’s also advisable to check the torque specification using a torque tester. The recommended torque should be clearly indicated on the packaging.
