Kyle Busch, who recently signed a long-term deal, will undoubtedly be aiming for redemption after a challenging 2012. Denny Hamlin, another key player, will also be seeking a strong comeback. Kenseth, with his 2003 Sprint Cup win under his belt, brings invaluable experience and leadership to the mix.
Co-owned by Michael Waltrip and Robert Kauffman, MWR had an impressive 2012 season, securing two spots in the Chase and claiming three race wins. For 2013, the lineup remains unchanged, with Clint Bowyer driving No. 15, Mark Martin in No. 55, and Martin Truex Jr. piloting No. 56. Michael Waltrip himself will continue to race in No. 55. With Scott Miller leading the charge as Director of Competition, the team is optimistic about leveraging the new sixth-generation NASCARs to push even further ahead. Fans can expect great things from this team in the upcoming season.
JTG-Daugherty Racing may face stiff competition from larger teams like Hendrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing, but they have a strong asset in their driver, 2000 Sprint Cup champion Bobby Labonte. One notable change for this season is that the team will no longer be operating out of the Michael Waltrip Racing shop, which could impact their strategy and performance. It’ll be interesting to see how these adjustments play out over the course of the season.
