Elk Grove buys new tower ladder
The Elk Grove Village Fire Department recently acquired a brand-new Pierce Velocity, featuring a 100-foot rear-mount tower ladder. This purchase marks a significant milestone for the department, as the vehicle comes equipped with both a pump and a water tank—an addition that hasn’t been seen in Elk Grove Village for quite some time.
Reflecting on the past, here are a few of the department’s earlier trucks:

In related news, Elk Grove Village is also planning to acquire a smaller squad vehicle, which will remain undetermined for now. This new addition will join the recently purchased tower ladder at Station 7 and function as a quick-response unit to handle emergency medical services (EMS) calls.
The decision to introduce this new configuration aims to enhance response efficiency while maintaining the department's commitment to public safety. As always, the Elk Grove Village Fire Department continues to evolve its fleet to meet the community’s needs effectively.
