The Ministry of Science and Technology, NSTDA, and Autodesk Join Hands to Advance Digital Manufacturing in Thailand

**Public Company Information:** NASDAQ: ADSK **BANGKOK, May 25, 2016** — The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Autodesk have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance Thailand’s manufacturing competitiveness by promoting the widespread use of advanced 3D technologies and digital manufacturing solutions. Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Science and Technology, emphasized that Thailand must transition from the “Thailand 3.0” model to a “Thailand 4.0” strategy to move toward a high-income economy driven by innovation rather than traditional performance. This shift is crucial for transforming Thailand’s economic structure and fostering long-term growth through Industry 4.0 technologies, which integrate digital tools into manufacturing processes. “This collaboration will empower local SMEs with digital design and manufacturing capabilities, while also preparing Thai talent for future industry demands,” Dr. Pichet added. “It aligns with national priorities in biotechnology, renewable energy, engineering, and the creative economy—sectors that are vital for improving quality of life and boosting economic resilience.” As part of this partnership, NSTDA and Autodesk aim to launch a ‘Digital Manufacturing Platform’ to support the National Digital Economy Master Plan. The platform will offer up to 100,000 engineers and professionals access to Autodesk’s 3D design, simulation, and collaboration tools for three years, helping them stay competitive in an evolving market. Dr. Thaweesak Koanantakool, President of NSTDA, highlighted the importance of digital manufacturing in driving innovation and enhancing connectivity. “By adopting these technologies, local companies can accelerate their development and align with the government’s vision for a more connected and efficient digital economy.” Key components of the platform include Autodesk’s Fusion 360 and A360 Team. Fusion 360 combines CAD, CAM, and CAE into one integrated tool, offering seamless collaboration across devices. A360 provides a centralized space for teams to manage projects and share information, streamlining workflows and improving productivity. Mr. Rama Tiwari, Regional Director of Sales at Autodesk ASEAN, noted that emerging technologies like IoT, AR, VR, robotics, and 3D printing are reshaping the manufacturing landscape. “This platform equips Thai businesses and talent with the tools needed to transform every stage of the production process, positioning Thailand as a leader in the future of manufacturing.” Beyond the Digital Manufacturing Platform, the collaboration includes joint research initiatives and technology development to support Thailand’s Smart Cities programs. These efforts reflect a broader commitment to leveraging innovation for sustainable economic growth. **About NSTDA** Established in 1991 under the Science and Technology Development Act, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) oversees four key centers: the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, the National Metal and Materials Technology Center, the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center, and the National Nanotechnology Center.
