Domestic Automotive Brand Drives Parts Innovation

In recent years, the development of automotive parts and components has become a critical factor limiting the growth of China's auto industry. At the "2006 China Automotive Autonomous Innovation Development Forum," officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology and domestic car manufacturers discussed strategies for technological advancement. Deputy Minister Shang Yong emphasized that the focus of independent innovation should be on clean vehicles. He stressed that the core of innovation lies in self-reliance and creativity. Drawing lessons from South Korea’s successful experience in both the automotive and information industries, he pointed out that the real cost of an independent innovation strategy is not just financial—it is rooted in the spirit of self-improvement and determination. It is essential to foster confidence, reject inferiority complexes, and embrace a mindset of bold progress rather than short-term gains or quick profits. Currently, China is in a phase where it exchanges market access for technology. Without developing its own brands and mastering core intellectual property, the country risks being at a disadvantage in global competition. Moreover, without strong innovation capabilities, it may find itself dependent on foreign technologies, which can lead to long-term vulnerability. Some have even mislabeled minor technical improvements as "independent innovation," which undermines the true meaning of the concept. Therefore, it's not enough to have the right attitude; practical efforts and perseverance are also needed. The shift toward clean energy and electric vehicles presents a unique opportunity for China. Given environmental constraints and its status as a major automobile and energy-consuming nation, the development of energy-efficient and clean cars aligns with national interests. These vehicles represent a key direction for the industry and are supported by government policies, offering significant growth potential. Mei Yonghong, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Science and Technology, highlighted that the auto industry must pursue independent innovation. While skepticism about this approach once existed, it is now recognized as a national strategy. However, the debate continues, particularly regarding how to effectively close the technological gap. True innovation is not about copying existing technologies but about building competitive advantages through learning, adaptation, and continuous improvement. Mexico's experience with the CKD model illustrates the importance of cultivating internal capabilities. Simply assembling foreign products does not lead to sustainable development. Technological capabilities must be developed internally through structured learning and innovation. This principle applies not only to countries but also to industries like automotive, where reliance on others leads to stagnation. Chery’s CEO, Li Lizhong, shared insights on Chery’s journey toward self-reliance. The company launched the A520 model, fully developed with its own intellectual property. From engines to body structures, Chery has focused on building its own systems. They have developed multiple engine series, including gasoline and diesel options, and are actively working on advanced transmission systems and automotive electronics. By investing in over 30 core component companies, Chery has strengthened its R&D capabilities and expanded into areas like EFI systems, lighting, and Bluetooth integration. Fan Zhong of Dongfeng Motor emphasized that independent innovation and openness are complementary. It is not about isolation but about leveraging global resources while maintaining control over core technologies. Innovation should include management and business models, not just technical advancements. Joint ventures can still support independent innovation, provided they are managed strategically. Openness and reform are essential to achieving long-term success. Zhu Huarong of Changan Automobile stressed the need for a solid system to support innovation. Breaking ideological barriers, embracing bold ideas, and fostering a culture of courage are crucial. Changan has restructured its organizations, established clear development layers, and implemented robust systems for R&D, protection, and talent management. These measures ensure that innovation is not just an idea, but a well-supported process. Wan Gang of the Ministry of Science and Technology highlighted the importance of developing components alongside vehicle systems. In the 863 Electric Vehicle Program, a parallel R&D model was adopted, ensuring that components were developed in sync with the vehicles. This approach led to rapid progress in fuel cell engines, motor power, and battery technologies. China has now become one of the few countries capable of developing and testing 100-kilowatt fuel cell engines. As China moves forward, the development of key components will be vital to overcoming bottlenecks in the auto industry. Through strategic collaboration, competition mechanisms, and resource sharing, Chinese automakers are strengthening their technological foundations. Companies like Chery exemplify how investing in core technologies can elevate the entire industry, paving the way for future growth and global competitiveness.

Food Pulverizer

A spice pulverizer is a machine that is designed to grind and crush various spices into fine powders. It typically consists of a spice crusher and a spice grinder, both of which work together to break down the spices and turn them into a smooth and consistent powder. The spice crusher is responsible for breaking down the larger pieces of spice into smaller, more manageable chunks, while the spice grinder takes those smaller pieces and grinds them into a fine powder. This machine is ideal for use in commercial kitchens or spice shops, where large quantities of spices need to be ground quickly and efficiently. With a spice pulverizer, chefs and home cooks alike can enjoy the full flavor and aroma of their favorite spices in every dish.
