Petrobras tenders for eight FPSO modules and assemblies
Petrobras will produce and assemble tenders for the first module of the same FPSO on December 1st. The FPSO will be used to develop the sub-salt field in the Santos Basin, Brazil. It is understood that more than 20 companies have been invited to participate in the bidding of the second to fifth contract packages.
It is reported that Petrobras intends to distribute the assembly work of eight FPSOs to three contractors. Each contractor receives a fixed order for the assembly of two FPSOs and may have the option to carry out the third FPSO assembly work, depending on the performance. This means that two of the companies will each get the assembly work of three FPSOs, while the other company will only assemble two.
The source also confirmed that Petrobras has decided to split the upper module production into five smaller contract packages, including a total of 16 modules in each of the same FPSOs.
