Dalian Port Auto Terminal, jointly invested by Dalian Port, Nippon Yusen Shipping Co., Ltd. and COSCO Shipping Port (formerly COSCO Pacific) in January 2004, is a specialized automobile terminal integrating port loading, unloading, warehousing and value-added services. The terminal has occupied 100% market share of Liaoning Port for four consecutive years and is one of the fastest growing specialized automobile terminals in China.
According to reports, before the China FAW Group shipped to China's East China, South China, mainly by road transport and rail transport; after participating in the Dalian Port Auto Terminal, FAW Group's vehicles to East China and South China will be transported by rail to Dalian Port. Then it will be transported to East China and South China by waterways; this will drive the rapid growth of the throughput of Dalian Port Auto Terminal.
Wang Weizhong, chairman of China FAW Logistics, said that the participation in this is an important measure for FAW to start a revolution in the automotive logistics business. In the future, FAW merchandise truck transportation will use more economic and environmentally friendly ro-ro water transportation mode, and Dalian Port will become FAW Commodity Vehicle.
