The total crushing ratio is not large, generally around 15-25, and the amount of broken ore is not much, often less than 1000 tons/day.

For example, when the ore is less than 300 mm, the first pre-screening (if the sieve is 75 mm), the 75-10 mm sieve product does not have to be crushed for the first time, only the 300-75 mm sieve product. Enter the crusher, then combine the first pre-screened undersize product with the first crushed product for a second pre-screening (screening 15mm) to obtain 15-0 mm The product is sieved, which is the final particle size of the crushed ore, ie the acceptable particle size. The size of the product on the sieve is 75-15 mm, and it is crushed a second time. The crushed product is also screened by inspection (usually the pre-screening and inspection screens are combined in the same operation, called pre-screening). Unqualified products larger than 15 mm continue to break. Until the particle size meets the requirements.

The two-stage open-circuit process is rarely used. It is only used in some re-election plants to use two-stage open-circuit process to deliver the broken products to the rod mill or to the road. Most of the concentrating plants use a two-stage closed-circuit process.

The three-stage crushing process also has three sections of open roads and three sections and one closed road. Pre-screening is performed before the three stages of the figure are broken, but it is also possible to pre-screen in the first or second stage. The three-stage open circuit is mainly because the particle size requirements of the final product cannot be guaranteed and are rarely used. The three-stage and one-closed process, that is, the third stage is divided into closed circuits by inspection screens, which is the most common process. Applicable to large, medium and small concentrators, its total crushing ratio is also relatively large, up to 25-200, the maximum feeding size can reach about 1000 mm, and the crushed product size can reach 12 mm or less.

In a few cases, when the size of the concentrator is large, the original ore size is also very large. In order to reduce the crushing ratio of each section, or to obtain a finer product granularity, a four-stage crushing process can also be used.
